ECONOMIC IMPACT OF INTERNATIONAL ENROLLMENT NOW ESTIMATED AT U.S. $27 BILLION
International student recruitment continued to grow for the US Higher Education sector with 2013/14 figures increasing by 8% to 886,052 students. This had a positive economic impact of US $27 billion and accounted for more than 340,000 American jobs. These are among the findings in the 2014 Open Doors report recently released by the Institute of International Education and the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
While this positive trend is expected to increase, many US institutions still lack the means necessary to attract international students who bring valuable financial and cultural diversity to the higher education sector. Education for Advancement (EFA), a Florida-based international enrollment services provides a growing number of public and private institutions with access to international markets through a diverse range of activities including direct promotion, partnerships and an international agent network. Suren Naidoo, our CEO commented “we continue to seek partnerships with the higher education sector as we expand our portfolio of programs and locations”.
